Staff & Volunteers
If you are interested in applying to our summer staff or volunteer programs at Gull Lake we look forward to hearing from you! Please note that all of our leaders are required to read and comply to our Lifestyle Agreement.
If you are interested in working at camp for the summer and becoming part of Gull Lake’s history, please check out the job descriptions to see if any are a fit for you. After that, fill out the application and get your references in.
Interviews are typically conducted in February till April, and hiring takes place following that. We are always happy to hear from people that are interested in the camp, so don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
You should know that volunteers at Gull Lake Centre are some of our favourite people! Gull Lake could not exist without its volunteer base, so we thank you very much for your interest.
There are many cool and rewarding volunteering opportunities at Gull Lake Centre. For the summer we need approximately 100 volunteer weeks in all different areas of the camp. With a variety of jobs available there is something for everyone! To volunteer, you will need to fill out a volunteer application form.
In the volunteer application, you will be required to provide at least 2-character references- one from a member of your church and another from any adult that is not a family member. Current Gull Lake staff (Summer 2019) members are not able to fill out character references for volunteers.
You will also be asked to provide a current (within 2 years) Criminal Record Check including the Vulnerable Sector portion on file. An original, physical copy will be requested on the first day of camp to be kept for the camps files. We are unable to return, photocopy or distribute to anybody else on your behalf. The volunteer application and 2-character references must be completed to be eligible to be on site and volunteer with us. Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions or concerns.
References may include a member of your church, previous employer, or character reference. References may not be immediate family members, current Gull Lake Centre staff, or other Gull Lake Centre applicants.
