2pm – 11pm

This is a drop in event open from 2-11pm on Saturday, June 13th.  Guests are welcome to come and go as they please, but make sure that you register before May 1st so we know how many to expect!

During the entire event we will have spaces open with artifacts and pictures from the past 100 years of camp!  There will be self-guided prayer tours of the campus, as well as plenty of space for sitting, congregating, and visiting.

From 2-5pm we will have some camp activities such as the climbing wall, archery, and bumper balls open and staffed.  These are weather dependent, but we are praying and hoping for a beautiful day!  The beach will also be open, but there will NOT be lifeguards on duty.

3:30pm will be a dedication for the new cabins.  This will include a short speech and devotional time and a time for prayer and anointing.

4-5pm will be a time of ol’ fashioned group camp games.  Tug-o-war, sac races, etc.  Fun to play and fun to watch!

5:30- 7:30 Supper and reception.  Come join for a delicious meal, speeches about the camp’s history, its current ministry and a vision for the future.  You MUST register for this event by May 1st so that we have the correct numbers.  We are renting a giant tent with tables and chairs and are having the meal catered.  We are so excited to have you here, but we need to know that you are coming.

8pm will be a wide game for those who want to run around.

9pm we will have a campfire and acoustic worship down at the beach.  If the weather doesn’t cooperate then we will have a time of worship in Memorial Hall.  Bring a sweater or blanket down to the beach because the air does cool off.

10:30pm (or whenever dark enough) Fireworks!  That’s right!  We get to have a fireworks show at the end of the night to celebrate!  11pm Goodnight!

Q

Who can attend?

A

This event is open to everyone who registers. You do not need to be a Gull Lake Alumni to attend. Bring your spouse your friends, your kids, anyone you want to help celebrate 100 years of camp at Gull Lake.

Q

Is there a cost?

A

There is no cost for this event, but we will certainly be asking for donations. The 100th celebration includes a $2.5M campaign that is nearly paid for, but not quite. We would love to finish this campaign at the event.

Q

Is this a fundraiser?

A

Yes! But no obligation to donate. We will be asking for donations for the Road to 100 campaign.

Q

Can I bring my pet?

A

Nope. But service dogs are certainly welcome.

Q

I thought this was a weekend event?

A

We had originally talked about that, but realized the logistics and the space required does not work as we ramp up for summer camp. We have some accommodations available, but not much. If you are coming from a distance, there are other campground on the lake that may be able to accommodate you.

Q

Can I bring my trailer?

A

Sadly no. We had thought that would be really fun until we realized that we need parking for hundreds of cars. We expect that every flat space will be used for parking and as such we will not be allowing RVs.

Q

I have limited mobility how will this work for me?

A

Camp is not the most mobility friendly space; however, we will make sure that there is a drop off and pick up zone close to the main building and decent paths to get from building to building. Getting to the beach in the evening may be difficult if it is muddy, but we plan on having a wagon to take people back and forth.

Q

What is the dress code for the event?

A

Dress for camp! Casual, comfortable, but look good for the photos because they will be around for hopefully 100 years! Perhaps wear an old camp t-shirt from your years as a camper or staff.

Q

Will there be child care?

A

Nope. You will be 100% responsible for your kids during the event. However, summer camp starts the following weekend and after that we will be completely responsible for them.

Q

Can I/should I bring my old camp photos and memorabilia?

A

We would love to display your old camp memories, but everything will need to be dropped off at least 1 week beforehand so we can display it properly.
